What to Expect

We Believe

We believe in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that all mankind is terminally sinful, and that only through the innocent life and death of Jesus Christ can anyone be saved. We believe that God has revealed Himself to us through His Word, the Holy Scriptures, and that these Scriptures are divinely inspired and without error.

AFFILIATION

Walker on the Water is a Lutheran church affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and is in fellowship with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS). With its national headquarters in Milwaukee, Wis., the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) is united together into a worldwide organization that allows congregations to work together on joint ministries, including training pastors, teachers, and staff ministers; sending out missionaries in the United States and the world; and producing materials. The word Lutheran in our synod’s name, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, is not merely a word. We call ourselves Lutheran because it clearly identifies what we believe and describes how we carry out the work that God has entrusted to his church on earth.
